If you are a Christian you have been conscripted to serve in a spiritual war that is raging all around you. You wear a spiritual patch easily identifiable and hated by the world because you seek the things of God rather than things of the world. The Seal of the Cross of Jesus Christ has been engraved into your hearts! The spirits on earth can see it and are very afraid. They hide behind the faces of myth and operate in the confused noise of self-expression, philosophy, and science. The Truth has been revealed and we already know who made all things – who holds the width and length and depth and height. We can wonder at the complexities of life, but let us not forget the simplicity of God’s Love. The war is God’s, not because there are sides of equal power that He must fight, but because it makes sense to test the strength and integrity of the hearts of those He has called children – The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the hearts (Proverbs 17:3). We have no idea what impact our obedience in the fires of trial on earth will have when we get to heaven. That perspective is reserved for Jesus in the end when the scrolls are opened. I do know, with all that is in me, that it will not disappoint!
There is no cosmic dualism between God and Satan. There are no other gods ruling the regions of the earth or elements contained in it. There are no divisions between God and what He has made; no great gulfs fixed for Him in the spiritual world where He cannot go or spiritual beings He cannot subject under His mighty power. The spirit of the anti-Christ seeks to convince mankind that there is no need to feel conviction for fulfilling the desires that are natural in the flesh; that free expression of these natural inclinations should have no shame associated with them. In fact, the pantheistic view (self is god) is predicated on the very manifestations of fleshly feeling and emotion conjoined with fleshly action. Those who practice such things hope their energies will control and move the unseen for their benefit. The beat of the drums, the movements of the body, sex magic, the blood sacrifices of the innocent to illicit or usher in some kind of imitation world order—
Isaiah 29:15–16 – Woe to those who seek deep to hide their counsel far from the Lord, and their works are in the dark; They say, “Who sees us?” and, “Who knows us?” Surely you have things turned around! Shall the potter be esteemed as the clay; For shall the thing made say of him who made it, “He did not make me”?Or shall the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?
It’s a lie! There is no power but of God, the powers that be are ordained by God (Romans 13:1). The war is for God to see those who are united with Him and are sincere in heart. God regards the lowly because the lowly (when grounded in Him) look up to the hills from whence comes their help (Psalm 121:1). The prideful only engage in the things that they know will not bring them lower. Even though God is in the highest place, we will not find Him there:
Psalm 53:2–3 – God looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God. Every one of them has turned aside, they have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one.
The Lord will perfect us through His work on the Cross and His Resurrection from the dead. Is there any lower place to look for the Majesty on High – a death that was reserved for the lowest criminals? And yet that is where we must look first and then keep our attention on the risen Christ while in this world! Then we will see the mighty Hand of God in our lives (which, by the way, is always there even when we don’t obey). God’s loving-kindness and Truth will see us through and His faithfulness will outlast us all!
