Do you ever correspond directly with a person from the electric company that gives your house power? Or the utility company that provides your home with the precious commodity of water (provided you are not on a well)? How many representatives of these companies have you met with face to face? You faithfully correspond with those companies monthly and on time. You pay your bills without having to see a single person on the receiving end; and yet you have power and water every month. These institutions of man are impersonal and based on a “pay to receive” structure. Our relationship to the Giver of Life and all good things is based on a “pray and believe” structure where we give ourselves completely into His hands and trust Him with every aspect of our lives (no matter what our circumstances may be). We cannot trust Him in some things only and not in others. Our faith has to shine through the clouds of fear, doubt, and misunderstanding to transcend the worldly expectations and requirements of paying to receive. It is an endless cycle of work that will never satisfy us in the end. We must endure as seeing Him who is invisible (Hebrews 11:27) until our faith is made sight.
God is not slack (late) concerning His promises to us. He is there with you and He does care! We must be faithful and on time in our correspondence with God even if we don’t see or hear Him. Believe me, one day we will see Him! One day we will hear Him! …Those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment (John 5:29). When God stops being silent everyone will hear from Him according to what He has heard from us in our hearts.
The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings. Jeremiah 17:9+10
It is liberating to know I can be honest about who I am and what I am struggling with before Him who knows me and loves me regardless!
