John 3:17-21
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have beendone in God.”
The Spirit of God calls us to emulate the humility that Christ displayed in life and death (Philippians 3). His attitude was one of love and compassion for the weak and broken hearted who pined for something more in life than the dread of another dark day. “In Him was life and the Life was the light of men, and the Light shined in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it (John 1:4).” The whole world lies in darkness and the shadow of death. God with abundant mercy is coming to all people in the great work of salvation accomplished by Christ Jesus. On earth He finished the work of dying on the Cross and rising again for our sins. All those who in humility will surrender their lives to the leadership of the Holy Spirit by confessing their sins to God under the banner of the Cross of Jesus Christ will be saved. But those, who in pride and arrogance think that they have control, God passes by with a whisper… You fool, your soul will be required of you, take heed that you do not perish in the way you are going; seek Me and I will be found of you and you will live; but only if you acknowledge your sin and humble yourself before me. If you continue in your pride and insist on confronting life without me, then I will say to you in the day of your death ‘Depart from me you worker of iniquity, I never knew you! Can you not see His long-suffering in allowing the world to continue in its wickedness till the very last of His lost children wake up (God is a just judge and God is angry with the wicked everyday Psalms 7:11)? Can you not see the great love of God, in His calling people to repentance? Though seeing every vulnerability in every person, He does not seize the opportunity to destroy, but save! Truly there is a judgment in the last days and before the great judgment seat of Christ we shall all stand. All who reject His way will be held accountable! However, God is more willing to save souls than destroy them! Therefore He waits patiently for you who have not received His gift because He truly loves you.
